We offer aspiring young professionals the opportunity to design and implement their own tailor-made program with the support of their employer, peers, mentors, and partners at home and in the United States.
We recommend structuring each individual program into two parts. First, it may be beneficial to sign up for a high level executive training program at a leading U.S. university. This helps in expanding a network of professional contacts. Second should be an internship at a U.S. organization or company. Ideally, the internship should lead to a long-term professional relationship with the American partner. The sequencing of these two suggested parts of the program or other arrangements is entirely up to the applicant.
Since healthcare, education and environment are closely interlinked, we anticipate applicants may propose individual programs overlapping any of the three focus categories, e.g.; establishing an education program for mid-level hospital managers.
Healthcare
The healthcare category of our program has been the most popular. It focuses on management, economics, financing, and marketing of healthcare delivery, and building and managing medical research teams. The program applies to a variety of settings such as clinics and hospitals, research facilities, consulting firms, managed care and insurance companies, and medical equipment and pharmaceutical companies.
Education
In education, the program focuses on organization, management, financing and support services provided by universities and independent science parks, technology and research parks, business incubators, technology centers, and innovation centers.
The objective is to train young leaders in improving linkages among universities, research institutions and business: one of the key national priorities in the Czech and Slovak Republics. The purpose of the program is to gain experience in harnessing more effectively national inventiveness, accelerate the development of new technologies, promote industrial alliances, generate opportunities for companies of all sizes, and create more sophisticated and challenging employment opportunities.
Environment
Since the beginning of our program in 2008, we have received not even a single application in this category. This is a great mystery to us since the environment has the widest scope of coverage ranging from its protection to sustainable use and restoration of natural resources, environmental management, environmental technologies and innovation, energy and renewable resources and many other areas.
To help encourage applicants in this category, this year we are also including architecture with emphasis on eco-friendly green design.
